1. Who Operates MusicToMIDI
MusicToMIDI is operated by Julien Halgand, an independent developer.
Contact email: premium@musictomidi.com
In these Terms, “MusicToMIDI”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the operator of MusicToMIDI.
“You” and “your” refer to the person or entity using the service.
“Service” refers to the MusicToMIDI website, conversion tools, user accounts, credits, premium models, generated MIDI files, and related features.
2. Acceptance of These Terms
By using MusicToMIDI, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms, agree to be bound by them, will use the service only in accordance with applicable law, and have the legal right to upload and process any audio files you submit.
If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use MusicToMIDI.
3. Description of the Service
MusicToMIDI is a web application that converts audio files into MIDI files using AI models.
The service may include browser-based audio-to-MIDI conversion, premium server-side AI conversion models, account-based features, credit-based usage, conversion history, MIDI file downloads, support tools, optional bug reporting, and related music software features.
MusicToMIDI is intended to assist users with music transcription and MIDI generation.
MusicToMIDI does not guarantee perfect transcription, perfect note detection, perfect timing, perfect pitch detection, or suitability for every audio file.
4. Free Local Model and Premium Server-Side Models
MusicToMIDI provides two different categories of AI models. This distinction is essential.
4.1 Free Local Model
The default free model runs locally inside your browser.
When using this model, no account is required, your audio file is processed on your own device, your audio file is not uploaded to MusicToMIDI servers for conversion, and processing occurs inside your browser environment.
Results may depend on your device, browser, and available computing resources.
The free local model may have different speed, quality, accuracy, compatibility, and feature limits compared with premium models.
4.2 Premium Server-Side Models
Premium models require server-side processing.
When using premium models, an account may be required, an internet connection is required, your audio file is temporarily uploaded to MusicToMIDI servers, the server processes your audio file using the selected AI model, and a MIDI file is generated.
The uploaded audio file is automatically deleted after processing is completed. The generated MIDI file is automatically deleted after 24 hours.
Premium server-side processing is necessary because advanced models may require server resources that are not practical to run directly in the browser.
4.3 User Understanding of Processing Mode
Only the default free model is fully local.
Premium models are server-side services.
By selecting a premium server-side model, you understand and agree that your audio file must be temporarily uploaded to MusicToMIDI servers so the requested conversion can be performed.
5. Accounts
Some features may require an account, including premium models, credit purchases, conversion history, and access to generated files during their availability period.
You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your login credentials secure, maintaining access to your email account, all activity that occurs under your account, and notifying us if you suspect unauthorized account access.
We may use Supabase and/or third-party authentication providers to manage accounts and login sessions.
We may suspend or restrict accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, create security risks, or engage in fraudulent activity.
6. Credits and Paid Features
MusicToMIDI may offer credits or similar usage units that can be used to access premium features.
Unless clearly stated otherwise at checkout, credit purchases are one-time purchases and are not subscriptions.
Credits are linked to your account, may be used only on MusicToMIDI, are not legal currency, have no cash value, cannot be transferred, cannot be resold, cannot be exchanged for cash, may be consumed when you request premium processing, and may be subject to technical limits, usage limits, or anti-abuse controls.
The number of credits required for a conversion may depend on factors such as selected model, file length, file size, processing cost, feature type, and server resource usage.
Prices, credit packages, features, and availability may change over time.
The applicable price, credit amount, and package details are those displayed at checkout when you make the purchase.
7. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider shown at checkout.
By making a purchase, you agree to provide accurate payment information, pay the price shown at checkout, pay any applicable taxes if any, comply with the payment provider’s terms, and ensure that you are authorized to use the selected payment method.
MusicToMIDI does not directly store your full payment card number.
We may store limited payment-related information necessary to manage your purchase, credits, support, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal obligations.
8. Refunds, Cancellations, and Disputes
MusicToMIDI provides digital services and digital credits.
Unless required by applicable law, purchases of credits or completed digital services are generally final and non-refundable once delivered, credited to your account, or used.
We may review refund requests in good faith, especially where a payment was duplicated, credits were not correctly applied to your account, a technical issue prevented access to the purchased service, a transaction was unauthorized, a refund is required by applicable law, or a refund is required by payment provider rules.
To request support for a payment issue, contact us at premium@musictomidi.com.
Please include your account email, payment date, payment amount, Stripe receipt or payment reference if available, and a clear description of the issue.
Submitting a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting us first may delay resolution.
We reserve the right to suspend or restrict accounts associated with fraudulent, abusive, or bad-faith payment disputes.
Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer protection rights that may apply to you.
9. User Content and Ownership
“User Content” means files, audio recordings, MIDI files, metadata, messages, bug reports, and other content you upload, submit, generate, or provide through MusicToMIDI.
You remain the owner of your User Content.
MusicToMIDI does not claim ownership of your uploaded audio files or generated MIDI files.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have all necessary rights, permissions, and legal bases to upload, process, convert, download, and use any audio file you submit.
This includes responsibility for any copyright, neighboring rights, performer rights, recording rights, publishing rights, licensing restrictions, contractual restrictions, or other third-party rights.
You are solely responsible for how you use generated MIDI files.
10. Rights You Grant to MusicToMIDI
When you use premium server-side processing, you grant MusicToMIDI a limited, temporary, non-exclusive license to process your uploaded audio file only as necessary to provide the requested conversion service.
This limited license allows us to receive the uploaded audio file, temporarily store it for processing, analyze it using the selected AI model, generate a MIDI file, make the MIDI file available to you, perform technical operations necessary to deliver the service, and troubleshoot technical issues where necessary.
This license does not allow us to sell your uploaded audio files, use your uploaded audio files for advertising, use your uploaded audio files to train AI models without separate explicit permission, publish your uploaded audio files, or distribute your uploaded audio files to other users.
For optional bug reports, you grant us the limited right to review and use the submitted materials to investigate, reproduce, and fix the reported issue.
11. User Responsibilities
You agree that you will use MusicToMIDI only for lawful purposes, upload only files you have the right to process, respect intellectual property rights, comply with applicable laws, keep your account secure, not misuse credits or payment systems, not interfere with the service, not attempt to bypass security or usage limits, not use the service to harm others, not submit malware or harmful files, and not misrepresent your identity or payment information.
You are responsible for verifying whether your use of uploaded audio and generated MIDI files is lawful in your jurisdiction and under any applicable license.
12. Prohibited Uses
You must not use MusicToMIDI to upload or process content you have no right to use, violate copyright or other intellectual property rights, distribute unlawful content, perform unauthorized scraping, perform automated attacks, overload, disrupt, or degrade the service, bypass rate limits, payment systems, credits, or access controls, reverse engineer, extract, copy, or abuse models, systems, APIs, or software except where applicable law expressly permits, attempt to access accounts, files, systems, or data that do not belong to you, probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities without written permission, submit malware, harmful code, or malicious files, create multiple accounts to abuse free or paid usage limits, resell access to the service without permission, use the service in a way that violates applicable law, or use the service to harass, defraud, or harm others.
We may take technical, operational, and legal measures to prevent prohibited use.
13. AI Conversion Results and Accuracy
MusicToMIDI uses AI models to convert audio into MIDI.
You understand that AI transcription is not perfect.
Generated MIDI files may contain incorrect notes, missing notes, extra notes, inaccurate timing, inaccurate pitch, inaccurate velocity, inaccurate duration, incorrect separation between instruments, or artifacts caused by noise, effects, distortion, reverb, or mixing.
Conversion quality may vary depending on recording quality, background noise, instrument type, number of instruments, polyphony, tempo stability, file format, audio length, selected model, and source material complexity.
MusicToMIDI does not guarantee that any generated MIDI file will be accurate, complete, commercially usable, or suitable for a specific purpose.
You should review and edit generated MIDI files before relying on them professionally.
14. File Availability and Deletion
14.1 Free Local Model
When using the free local model, your audio file remains on your device, is not uploaded to MusicToMIDI servers for conversion, and is not stored by MusicToMIDI.
14.2 Premium Server-Side Models
When using premium server-side models, your uploaded audio file is temporarily uploaded for processing and is automatically deleted after processing is completed.
The generated MIDI file is automatically deleted after 24 hours.
You are responsible for downloading generated MIDI files before they expire.
MusicToMIDI is not responsible for files that are deleted after the retention period or lost because you did not download them in time.
14.3 Conversion History
Your account may temporarily display conversion history or metadata, including conversion date, file metadata, selected model, processing status, generated MIDI metadata, and credit usage.
Conversion history and metadata may be changed, limited, deleted, or unavailable at any time.
15. Optional Bug Reports
MusicToMIDI may offer an optional bug reporting feature. Bug reports are separate from normal use of the service.
If you submit a bug report, you may choose to provide audio files, generated MIDI files, screenshots, logs, browser information, error descriptions, account details, and conversion details.
You should only submit files you are comfortable sharing for troubleshooting.
Bug report materials may be retained longer than normal conversion files if needed to investigate and fix the issue.
Bug report files are not used for AI training unless you separately and explicitly agree.
16. Intellectual Property
MusicToMIDI, including the website, software, interface, branding, models, code, design, text, logos, and related materials, is owned by MusicToMIDI or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
Except as allowed by these Terms or applicable law, you may not copy the service, reproduce the software, modify the service, distribute the service, extract models or code, remove copyright notices, misuse the branding, create derivative services based on unauthorized access, or use MusicToMIDI intellectual property without permission.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of MusicToMIDI intellectual property to you.
17. Third-Party Services
MusicToMIDI may rely on third-party services, including hosting providers, database providers, authentication providers, payment processors such as Stripe, analytics providers, monitoring providers, and email or support providers.
Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
18. Service Changes and Availability
MusicToMIDI is an evolving service.
We may change, improve, limit, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, including free features, premium models, pricing, credit packages, conversion limits, file size limits, supported formats, processing speed, retention periods, account features, user interface, and model availability.
We try to maintain reliable service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability.
The service may be unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, server issues, third-party provider issues, abuse prevention, security incidents, technical failures, legal reasons, or operational reasons.
19. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to MusicToMIDI if we reasonably believe that you violated these Terms, abused the service, attempted to bypass limits or payments, used the account fraudulently, created legal or security risk, disrupted the service, or if required by law or payment provider rules.
You may stop using MusicToMIDI at any time.
You may request account deletion by contacting us at premium@musictomidi.com.
Some records may be retained where required for legal, payment, tax, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
20. Privacy
Your use of MusicToMIDI is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and delete information, including the difference between free local browser processing and premium server-side processing.
You should read the Privacy Policy before using the service.
21. Disclaimers
MusicToMIDI is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no guarantees that the service will always be available, the service will be error-free, conversions will be accurate, MIDI files will be complete, files will be compatible with every DAW or MIDI editor, premium models will always remain available, any specific result will be produced, or the service will meet your expectations or requirements.
MusicToMIDI is a tool to assist with audio-to-MIDI conversion. It is not a substitute for professional musical judgment, manual editing, licensing review, or rights clearance.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MusicToMIDI and its operator will not be liable for indirect damages, incidental damages, consequential damages, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of data, loss of files after expiry or deletion, inaccurate MIDI transcription, copyright or licensing issues caused by user uploads, service interruption, unauthorized account access caused by user negligence, third-party service failures, inability to use the service, or user failure to download files before deletion.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability will be limited to the amount you paid to MusicToMIDI for the relevant service during the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
23. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MusicToMIDI and its operator from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the service, your uploaded files, your generated MIDI files, your violation of these Terms, your violation of applicable law, your infringement of third-party rights, your misuse of the service, your payment fraud, or your account abuse.
This section applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
24. Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, France, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection rules, you may have rights that apply regardless of these Terms.
Because MusicToMIDI provides digital services and digital content, certain rights may depend on whether the service has already been delivered, whether credits were used, and what was disclosed at checkout.
If you have questions about a purchase, contact us at premium@musictomidi.com.
25. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of France, unless mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence require otherwise.
Any dispute will be handled by the competent courts of France, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring a claim in another jurisdiction.
This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights or mandatory jurisdiction rules that may apply in your country of residence.
26. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When we update them, we will change the “Last updated” date above.
If changes are significant, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
Your continued use of MusicToMIDI after the updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must stop using the service.
27. Contact Us
